Containing a powerful new active ingredient Afoxolaner, Nexgard provides effective protection against fleas and ticks, including Paralysis ticks. It comes as an easy to administer, tasty, beef-flavoured chew. It can be used on puppies over 2kg in weight and from 8 weeks of age.
According to the manufacturer of Nextard, Merial Animal Health Products, you do not need to use a tick collar if you are using Nexgard for your dog. Many dog owners do however prefer the comfort of using both a tick collar and Nexgard chews, and vets advise that this should cause no adverse reactions. For a few extra dollars, we think using a tick collar like Scalibor or Preventic and Nexgard is a good idea.
